[Itinerary Overview]

Explore the Julian Rocks Marine Reserve in Byron Bay, ranked as one of Australia’s best diving spots. Experience “Nguthungulli” (the name given to this incredible place by the local Arakwar people), which offers protected, safe shallow waters ideal for snorkeling and free diving. Located at Australia’s easternmost point, Julian Rocks is where warm tropical and cool temperate waters meet, making it a hotspot for marine wildlife.

Snorkel alongside whales, dolphins, manta rays, leopard sharks, gray nurse sharks, and sea turtles. With an abundance of fish and multiple areas to explore, this is the perfect setting for snorkeling and free diving. The marine biologist on board will guide you to the best spots for viewing marine life.

Don’t worry—we’ll provide you with high-quality masks, fins, and wetsuits. Enjoy the beautiful views of the Byron Coast from the comfortable boat “Wardjum.” —The Bundjalung is a mythical sea creature. On your way to Julian Rocks, you might even encounter local dolphins and other marine life. Humpback whales can be spotted daily from June through November. Manta rays and leopard sharks can be seen from November through May.

This activity takes place in open water; participants must be able to swim, and reliance on flotation devices is not recommended. If you cannot swim, please do not participate!
